Fall decorating, new things, giveaways I have won (picture heavy post)

Good afternoon all!! Hope your week has started off good for you all. I've been busy decorating and doing some creating also.

Here are some pictures of some of the Fall decorating that I have done around my home.
My wash stand. I don't think I am going to redo the stand, I think I'll just leave it the chippy white.

Last Thursday was the Fall Open House at my favorite prim store, The Whistle Stop
I got some great stuff there and I just love talking with the owner, Laurie, but she was really busy so we didn't get much of a chance to chat. There was a line waiting at the fence for the store to open! That just shows what a great little store this is!!
This is what I all got.

Can't wait for her Christmas Open House!! LOL!

I also received an email last week informing that I won a giveaway. I won Lucy over at Down Willow Lane. Lucy is making the trip overseas so she won't be here for a bit yet but I'll post a picture once she arrives!

AND then today I received an email letting me know that I was the 2nd giveaway winner over at Crafty Stitchers. An awesome penny rug and a pumpkin. That penny rug will be the first that I have ever owned! I'll post when I receive those goodies also!!

A couple of weeks ago, Jody from Primgal's Primitive Pallette and I did some bartering as I wanted some of her painted soaps. I sent her some surfaces that she could paint up. If you have never seen any of Jody's paintings, you really need to check her blog out. The soaps are so neat and she also included a surprise...a cute prim heart in a rusty bed spring and a prim crow hangtag. These are the soaps and the prim heart that I got.

I know by now (if you are still with me at this point) you are saying... "is she done yet?"...LOL!!
Got one more thing to show you. Susan Burd of Country Crocks by Susan, has some of her prints licensed into rug designs. This is the 2nd rug that I have bought from her and they are great. I just love mine! This is the Fall one.

Ok, I really think that's it for now!! Thanks for staying with me and hope that you all have a great week!!

Down & Out, Out & About!

Wow! It's been awhile. Have had lots going on, wish I could say that I have been creating all this time, but not true. I have done some though so I haven't been totally lazy...lol! Got lots to go through though so shall we get started?

Made my monthly trip to the Estate Store and this is what I got! That Wingback chair was only $30.00! The chippy Washstand was $45.00. I'm loving that old Sampler, that was $16.00. I should do some research on that name. Yeah, some day..lol! Also a big old bag of buttons and a bag of all kinds of colors of fabric napkins. I'll coffee stain those....yeah, some day...lol! Edited to add that the picture of the chair really turned out horrible. The chair is not that dirty looking and there are no rips or tears on it!

Have any of you been to Gordman's lately?? (Angie, that's for you...lol) Yes, I know, made in China or somewhere over there but still prim looking stuff. This is what I came home with.

And then a trip was also made to my new fav little prim store, The Whistle Stop. Didn't get much this time though...yeah, some day...lol!

The following pictures of what I have created lately. The cross stitch designs are Jenny Hoffman's of Country Rustic Primitives design and the candlemat is a design by Chestnut Junction.

Ok, that's it for pictures. Other things that have been going on is that I was sick for almost a week! I was down for the count. Not good at all!! The other is that my Uncle passed away. Sad time. I loved him so! But he is with his wife, son, and his siblings (my dad) now. I so love his kids also, we get along very well. Another sad thing about his death is that the family name (Goldberg) is now done. My Uncle had a son that was killed in '77 in an auto accident and my dad (now passed 13 yrs ago yesterday) had all daughter's.

Oh, and some good news here....my bestest bought a house, all on her own. I'm so proud of her. Hopefully her closing date will be by the end of the month. Wow, it is September isn't it? It's chilly here today, by my standards anyway. AND I have also painted my bedroom!! Shocker I know! Not totally done though. I have to redo the trim because the paint that I got, is almost the same color as the walls! Not what I wanted. I also need to get the windows done too...yeah, some day...lol!

Hope you all have a wonderful and safe Labor Day Weekend!!

Some prim kittie's, a butter churn and a cabinet!

Hello friends! It's pretty hot out isn't?? Seems like there are heat advisories everywhere!! I just got done mowing and it is brutal out. I'm not gonna even worry about my backyard today...no shade back there at all so it's gonna wait until the weekend when it is supposed to cool down. Hope everyone that has to be in the heat stays safe and drinks plenty of water.

I got these cute little prim kittie's made up last week. Forgot to mention that this design is by Sassafras Hill Primitives. These guys (or gals) are up for sale.

There was an auction last week that I wanted to go to but couldn't. It was in the town that my mom lives in. Well she had planned on going anyway. So anyway, there was a butter churn there that I wanted and also a bunch of cross stitch stuff. I told her not to go very high. Well she got a huge box of cross stitch fabric, thread and other stuff for 4.00. And she did get the butter churn but she told me that would be my Christmas present, my birthday present, another Christmas present and another birthday present...lol!! She finally told me what she paid and it was 90.00. I love my mommy!!! She had to go in and get a heart cath done yesterday and it was all good. Didn't need any stents put in!! Oh, I forgot the pics of the butter churn...lol.

I was at Goodwill a couple of days ago...saw this cabinet out the corner of my eye...someone else was looking at it. Well, they walked away and left the cabinet so I hurried over there and threw it in my cart...lol. Well not really throw cuz it's big and heavy but I placed it in my cart...ha!! Only 14.99!! It's bare wood so all I gotta do is paint and distress. Phew...no sanding until the final paint is on. Not sure what color though. But I really like it!!

An ex-neighbor of mine graduated from college a couple of weeks ago she had a party last weekend. It was a good time. This is a picture of her and then the other picture is of her hubby and their son...he is so cute!

It's here!

I looked in my mailbox today and there it was!! All nicely wrapped in protective plastic...my APP magazine!! I literally tore that plastic off before I even got back in the house and did some quick glances and it looks wonderful! Hopefully I can sit down with it tonight.

Lazy cats and new items for ebay

Hello friends!! Not much to share today except a couple of pictures of my cats. This is a rare thing for them two as they usually don't get that close to each other...lol. They were so out of it they didn't even notice that I was in the room!

I also finally managed to get my pinkeeps sewed up along with a little framed picture.

This first one is a design by The Trilogy

All the rest of these are by Jenny Hoffman of Country Rustic Primitives

I did something different this time with the pinkeeps...instead of using polyfill for stuffing, I used rice and poly pellets. Makes them a bit heavier but it also lets them stand on their own. I'll see how it goes over before I decide to continue to use the rice and pellets.

I also listed some Terrye French painting books, some Create & Decorate magazines and some Quick & Easy Painting magazines if anyone is interested. All that and the pinkeeps are listed on my ebay. Just click the link on the sidebar.

Well it looks like that is it for now. Have a great week everyone!!
