Darn! It's really cold!!

Hey everyone! Long time no see! Looks like I'm being bad again about not posting. I just don't have that much to say...lol. Now other people would not agree with that statement...ha!!

We had a good sized snowfall last weekend. Here are some cool pictures that I took the next day.

I visited the Estate Dispersal Store yesterday and got a few things. I'm loving this typewriter:

This vintage sewing basket, filled with sewing needs, the little aluminum advertising clipboard and a pair of scissor's that have a really lovely design on them. Oh, and also the hat pincushion.

I joined a garage sale site on facebook recently for around my area. I have been selling quite a bit of stuff on it, but have also been doing some buying. I have met some really nice people right here in my area. This one lady that I have become fond of recently did something so awesome for me. A seller had a daybed listed and she also had a really primitive cabinet listed for $50.00. This friend bought the daybed and I had really wanted the cabinet, this seller lives 45 minutes from me and even further for my friend, so anyway, my friend finds someone with a truck to go and get the daybed and they were nice enough to pick this cabinet up for me!! There are really some awesome people out there, as I have also found many of you in blogland also! The cabinet does need lots of work but I just love it. I think I want to leave the top part just like it is and redo the bottom part but I can't decide how to do it. If you all have any ideas please let me know!!

Speaking of facebook garage sale sites, I started a page of my own called "Fremont Nebraska Area Rustic, Primitive, Shabby Chic and Antique Sale Barn". Alot of people in my area are starting to get into these types of decorating. But, there aren't many sellers of all these things in this area. So I'm sending out an invite to you all to join and to sell your items on my page. This also includes handmade items. Of course buyer pays shipping. If any of you would like to join, please just let me know. It's open to everyone, not just sellers but buyers also. So easy to upload photo's and it's all free!! All details are worked out between the buyer and seller. I would love to see you all there!

Ok, that's it for today. I have nothing else to ramble on about...lol. Have a great week everyone and Happy Valentine's Day!!

Winter has finally arrived here in Nebraska! The wind is a howling and I guess Omaha got a light dusting, enough to make the roads slippery. We didn't get any snow here. It's downright cold out!!

Hi everyone!

I have been bad....I haven't posted since Christmas! Maybe Santa won't be as good to me this year as he was this past one. My kids got me a Kindle! They got me the regular one so I went and traded it in for the Kindle Fire, with their blessings of course. I love it. I still haven't read any books on it, still playing with all the free apps and games...ha! Look how excited I was as I totally was not expecting it. And look at all those chins!!

So last week I was really sick. Sick enough that I had to go the hospital. There is a gastric virus going around and that's what I had. You don't want to know the details but let me tell ya, it's horrible! At the hospital they gave me a shot for the nausea and then hooked me up to an IV since I was dehydrated. I'm feeling lots better, still some weak muscles around the stomach area from all the nausea, but still much better. It's only a 24 hour bug but it's a bug that really bites! Hubby had it a couple of days before I got it, he didn't get it as bad though. I hope I wasn't whining like he did the whole time he had it...lol.

I'm late in posting some things I received in the mail. Amy and I did a swap and this is what I all got from her. My first hooked rug!!! I was so excited over that. Thanks again Amy for everything!

And then dear sweet Lecia had asked me to make a framed cross stitched picture for her. Well I also made a matching pinkeep and a Valentine's day pinkeep for her also. Well she thought that she needed to send me something for all that, I told her no, it was a present, but she still insisted. She sent me 2, yes 2 of her well known bonnets, and an awesome little prairie dress with it's own bonnet. They are all so adorable, thank you again dear friend!!

The prairie dress is the one on the right.

My wall rack is getting full!! The 2 bonnets on the left are the newesst ones.

Have to throw in a picture of Spaz. She looks guilty!

I have to show this picture of my boys opening one of their gifts. I found these in some catalog, can't even remember the name. Maybe it was "The Lighter Side". Anyway, they each got a "Weener Kleener Soap". It was just hiliarious! They got a kick out of it.

Over New Year's weekend, we got to get my grandson Landon for a visit. It was a good one. The time went too quickly though. Here is a recent picture of him.
Photobucket

Well that's about it. I have still been stitching. I'll have some Valentine pinkeeps soon.

Have a great week everyone!!

What a week!!

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well this Saturday evening. It's cold and snowy here in Nebraska.

Before I get to my week, I first need to show you my stocking that I won from Tammy over at her blog. She says it's backwards but I'm loving it either way! She also included that sweet little stocking. Thanks so much Tammy. And a thanks to Angie for the lovely card! No picture of it though, fogot!

I did get some more pinkeeps done and listed on ebay.

Now about the week that I had. Started at 7 am last Friday morning, never good to get a phone call that early in my house. It was my mom's boyfriend telling me that he thinks my mom had a stroke and that they were calling the ambulance. I'm going crazy at this time. Have to wait a bit before going to the hospital as they live about 20 miles away. Anyway, for long story short, the doctor's say that she had a TIA (mini-stoke). She is on Coumadin and her blood numbers weren't right along with the A-Fib that she has was probably most likely the cause of it they said. She has no debilitating effects, thank GOD! She was in the hospital until Monday, they let her out. She had scans done and never did find anything or where she might have been hemmoraging if she did have a clot. So anyway, she is doing really well now and has been out and about. We have been telling her that it's too soon but she won't listen. She said she is going back to work this Monday but she has another thing coming if she thinks she is...lol. So thank you all that said prayers for her when I had originally posted on facebook and you saw it there.

Well that is about it for here. Just not much going on at all. I have done some decorating but nothing like I did last year. I don't even have my tree up yet and still debating on doing that.

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!

Photobucket

The following are picture's of stuff that I picked up at the Estate Store a couple of weeks ago.

These coasters smell so good! There is an old hair cutter, a metal Canadian Whiskey shot glass, and a box of old clothespins:
Photobucket

An old box and an old cross stitch picture:
Photobucket

Biscuit cutters in original box, don't think they have ever been used.
Photobucket

Pewter plate and an old grater I think.
Photobucket

And these 2 things that I think are homemade sifters.
Photobucket

I got a couple of other things but they are for a swap so I can't show them.

Are any of you Black Friday shoppers?? I'm not, I'll be home on the computer and glued to Amazon for their deals.

Hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Travel safe if any of you are traveling to family.
