Baby, it's cold out!! It's the middle of the afternoon and only 54 and rainy and cloudy. What a bummer of a day!
Here are some pics of my latest GW finds:
Probably shouldn't have gotten this, it's that plastic wood so probably won't be able to do anything with it.
I love these 2 little glass pitchers. The store had a bunch of these. Now just waiting for my prim labels to get here. Also found another little crock.
Found these 2 Ball jars, but no tops for them.
I thought this was just the coolest thing. If anyone would like to order one of these, just let me know!
And then I found a thread holder for all those spools of thread that I will have whenever I begin to sew again...ha!! My cat is laughing about it also!!
And I thought these were cool also...2 old stove pipe covers or whatever they are called. I just remember seeing these in the old farm that I lived on growing up. Not sure what they are called.
Here are a couple of pics of a spoon holder that I redid:
And then lastly for the pics, I took a couple of the roses that I have in my flower bed. I took these over the weekend when we were in the 80's and it was sunny out.
Last week, a young woman that went to the same school that I did died of a massive heart attack. She was only 44. I did know her, I know her brother's better as they are more my age and I actually hung around with her brother's while in school. They are also on my facebook page. This poor girl had been having chest pains and thought if she just went and laid down, that they would go away. Yes, they went away and they took her with. To all my blogger friends....PLEASE....if you have any type of chest pain, please get help immediately. This shouldn't have happened. Anyway, this woman's hubby is my best friends brother. She lives in Florida and was able to make it back here to Nebraska. Unfortunately, it took this tragic accident for us to be able to get together again after about 8 years. We have always kept in contact and I even made a couple of trips to Florida to see her. We were best friends throughout grade school and high school. Last night was her last night here and we were able to get together with some other classmates at a bar here in town, and we just had a blast altogether. And then this morning, she and her boyfriend and myself went out for breakfast together. Of course, none of us have forgotten the reason of why she was back in town.
Thanks for hanging on through all the pictures and post. Have a great evening!!

It's been awhile and new patriotic sign on etsy!
Forgive me for not posting in over 2 weeks. I just don't know where my time goes...lol! And I'm not getting anything done! I did get a patriotic sign done, it is listed in my etsy shop. Just click the link on the right hand side of this blog page, it is even showing up on the etsy pictures so you can also just click on the picture. It is a Kim Klaussen design, I just turned it around. I also got loads of books, painting books, and misc. listed on ebay today so you can click on my ebay button if you are interested in taking a look at what I have. I have also been to Goodwill a couple of times since I have last posted but there are way too many pictures to post, so I will just show the finished piece once I get it done. So much to do! One thing that I did find at GW was a pair of Tweed valances in a brown and tan color. They will look perfect in my kitchen once I get that painted. I did get my paint for that...it is called "Tahini". It's a very light and pale yellow I believe and it's in the Kilz selection. I also got some really prim border for the top of the walls. I can't wait to get it all finished but I have to start first...ha!
Not really much else going on around here. I do have all my flowers planted now. I have new rock that I have to lay out in the beds yet. I should take a picture of my roses, they are so beautiful! Anyway, I hope that you all have a SAFE and wonderful Memorial Day!!

Mother's Day and a couple of re-do's
Yes, I know...I'm late posting some pics of my Mother's Day. Remember when my mom was in the hospital with pneumonia? Well after she got home, maybe a week after, she had fallen in her house and hit her head on the floor. The following is a picture of her, almost 8 days after the fall. Yes, she was fine, was checked by her doctor and he gave the all clear. She is on Coumadin and this is how easy bruising occurs. This picture was taken at my nephew's graduation party on Saturday, the day before Mother's Day.
The next few picture's were also taken that Saturday at my daughter's house, with my grandson Landon and also my hubby.
Mother's Day was especially special for me this year. I have a 22 yr old son that has always lived with his father since he was about 3, (I won't go into the details of why). I was always able to get him for other Mother's Day celebrations and as he grew older, friends, sports and driving seemed to get in the way. He also had moved quite a ways away. Then he graduated school, went to college not very far away from me, got a girlfriend that doesn't live very far away either but now we were able to see each other more often. Still, he never made it to see me on Mother's Day. He would call though. Anyway, on Sunday hubby and I went to get groceries as we normally do on Sundays and we came home, put everything away, we were just getting ready to leave to go to my mom's and my son pulls into my driveway. I cried! This was the first time that he has ever came to see me on a Mother's Day on his own. He even brought me a plant. He made my day! The following is a picture of me and him. Him and g/f ended up going with us to my mom's house. My other son and his wife ended up buying us supper, but I didn't get a picture of him.
Last thing I have for you all to see is a couple of redo's that I did manage to get done.
I really like how the mustard colored box came out. Both were painted black then the basket got a coat of a hunter green paint than sanded and sealed and the box got a coat of a mustard colored painted, also sanded and sealed.
I apologize for having this post so long but thanks for sticking with me!!

More GW finds and a redo
Hello friends...it's a beautiful day here in Nebraska and I should be outside enjoying it. But my computer calls me for duty...lol!
Went to GW the other day and found wayyyyyyy too much stuff. There are lots of pictures to look at.
Not sure what I'm going to do with all that stuff..lol. I know the pictures aren't prim, but I really like them. They will probably be in my closet for years to come. I know that game board is not what we like, but maybe someone can give me an idea of what I can do with those hearts, maybe fill them in??
The next item in the following 2 pictures I just fell in love with. Not prim but maybe I could make it prim?? Spray the fabric with some coffee stain, rough up the wood edges and then find a prim doll to sit in it?? Any ideas friends??
Ok, I know that was a lot of stuff and probably most of it I don't even "need", just wanted it!!
I did manage to get a redo done, I think I'm going to sell these instead of keep them. If you're interested let me know. These were sanded, then painted chocolate brown and then painted black on top of that and did a bit of sanding here and there.

Great weekend!
The weather was perfect here...not too hot, not too cold. What did I get done? Not much....lol! No painting, no redo's, no sewing. Not even any gardening or flower planting done. So you are asking...."well then what did you do?" Been cutting wood for this huge order that we have, I have been sanding a few things. Got out my Summer clothes and put my Winter ones away (you watch....it will snow next week!). Went to Menards, got a new sander, some more spray paint and hubby got a new tiller/cultivator. Been trying to coax my kitty out of the tree for the last 3 hours. Hubby finally was able to reach her after climbing the ladder. He is such a sweetie and he is even allergic to them! And then just been doing general housework cleaning, laundry and the such. I didn't get much accomplished with my painting or the such, but got a lot accomplished outside.

More Goodwill finds
These are my latest GW finds. The large cutting board will get redone for sure! You can't see the spoon rack very good in the first picture but I took a separate picture of it. Those 3 little colored things are "books", not sure if I will redo them. The little double basket or holder is actually a Tender Heart product, not sure if I will redo that either.
The coming week is "supposed" to warm up, in the lower 70's anyway. Hopefully I can get my flowers planted.
Everyone have a great weekend!!
