Antique mall finds, Goodwill finds and some new candle mats

Good evening friends!

Here are my finds from the antique mall that hubby and I went to last weekend. I really didn't get much but I could have gotten a lot more if we would have had a pickup!!







These are my finds from Goodwill yesterday. Not much again!



I'm looking forward to primming this up!! Please excuse my bottom half that's reflecting off the mirror!! LOL!! I got some other little things there also, some clothes and books.



These are the new stitchery candle mats that I got done. I'll list these on ebay. They sell pretty good there.

It's still been kind of chilly here but next week they are saying high 60's and 70's so hopefully I can get a bunch of these redo's done!!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!! Besides the snow, it was a great day. The casino's were a bust though....dang it!! But we went to an antique mall today and got some things, I'll post pics during the week. I was hoping to find either a crock bench or a dry sink but no such luck. Then we went and ate at Red Lobster. I love that place!!

So anyway, thanks again so much all!!

ssshhh...it's my birthday AND IT'S SNOWING!!

Well friends, I am officially 49 today...one year away from being the big 5-0!! Not looking forward to that...lol. Wish me luck, I'll be going to the casino's later!!

Yesterday was 65 degrees out, today is 34 and SNOWING!! Totally not right. So far it is not sticking to the streets but I'm sure before too long it will. It's supposed to get colder. Last year on my birthday we had a major snowstorm, it's not supposed to be that bad today but the fact remains....IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! I don't want snow on my birthday. Every year my hubby will start saying in January that it will be 70 on my birthday and he is wrong every year, but he was awful close this year...lol!!

So anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

BTW....this is post #95 so giveaway time is getting closer! This is like what...3 posts for me this week?? Don't think that has happened before...ha!!

Finally!!

I "finally" got my hubby to hang my bookshelf up that I got from a wonderful friend....Carol (and hubby) from Firecracker Primitives. Just click on Carol's name to go to her blog. From there you can go to her etsy and ebay shops. Her and her hubby do awesome work. I know I have said that before in previous posts but it's the truth!! Anyway, I love how my shelf turned out and I have been buying all kinds of old books to put on it. Notice the wire rimmed glasses!!

Hello blogging friends! Hope your week is going good and that you are hopefully enjoying some warmer weather. Here in Nebraska has been windy with temps in the 40's and 50's. They are calling for 60 Thursday and then the snow comes in for Friday night into Saturday with the temps dropping into the lower 30's!! Snow for the first day of Spring...isn't that just lovely??? NOT!!! For as long as I can remember, we have always gotten a snowstorm on my birthday and it looks like it will happen again! Oh well, nothing I can do about it right? LOL!

On to the good stuff!!

Friday, a friend and I went to the Estate Store (Only open once a month) and I got the following things.

The strawberries will definitely go bye bye on this piece!




Got this ironing board for 2.00!


I love this little doll's chair!


A pewter dish, some measuring cups and a pair of old scissors to put on my sewing machine display.


And then this ugly spoon rack (might toss it)...I just wanted the spoons! That little wood piece I'll make into a pinkeep (someday)!


And then these old Butterick cross-stitch patterns.


And the last thing I got...$20.00...was this old sewing cabinet. I saw one on someone's blog before that they had painted black. I'm not sure if I will do anything to this or not.


And then after that store, we decided to go to Gordman's. More stuff!! LOL!


And then after Gordman's we decided to visit this quilting shop in town that I had never been to before but had gotten a gift certificate from my DIL. This store is very dangerous!! LOL!! I could spend a fortune in here. Look at all the fat quarters that I got, most were $1.25!





Also found some misc. stuff in there too!



So that completes the shopping expedition...lol!!

I also managed to get some pinkeeps stitched up and ready to put on ebay. These designs are all by Jenny Hoffman at Country Rustic Primitives.








For those of you that have cats, have any of you tried that new Emery Board? It's supposed to file down your cats nails when they scratch it. Well........I bought one a couple of weeks ago....my cat's won't even touch it! Even with the catnip in it!! Darn cats anyway! They hate to have their nails clipped. We have a fighting match with Spaz when we have to do hers. You would think she would use this board so she doesn't have to go through the clipping...ha!!

Well I think that's all I have for today. I'll be having my first giveaway very soon. That is when I hit 100 posts, although as slow as I am in posting, it might be another month...lol! I'll try and do it sooner though. I'm still gathering some things for it so be on the lookout for that soon. Hope you all have a great rest of the week!!

New snow, new do, new things

Good afternoon all!

Well we woke to snow this morning. Mother Nature must have thought that since all of our previous snow had melted with the nice days that we have been having, that she needed to give us more. It's not much but it's there. Now it is raining!! My mom picked a good day to go to Alabama!! My sister said it was supposed to get to around 80 there!

Before I had gotten sick, I went and had my hair done. New color, new cut. I also got new glasses! I know I said I wasn't going to go dark again because it shows the gray lots faster, but I just look so washed out in lighter colored hair. I have my head slightly turned so you don't see so much of the triple chin...ha!!



Went to Goodwill yesterday and got the following items. Not much there once again!


I'll redo this for sure and the blue candle will go!! LOL!


Not sure if I will do anything to that cutting board.




Couple of juicers for my Hoosier cabinet.


This was delivered today and I absolutely love it! It was made by Shari over at homespunandprimitives. I love her work!

My new stove cover.


I have been working on some more stitched candle mats and some cross stitch projects. Still also working on that huge cross stitch one also. I pick it up here and there...lol. I sold 2 candle mats just this morning on ebay..yay!! I'm thinking about setting up a selling blog. For those that have one, how is it working for you? Are you getting lots of traffic?

I can't think of anything else that is happening around here. Not too exciting. Just wish it would warm up and stay that way...I have so many makeovers to do.

I've been sick!

Hi all!

Haven't been on here lately...I have been sick with a head cold and it just totally wiped me out. I don't think I have had a head cold like this one in a very long time!! Today I'm pretty much better, at least I'm not going through a box of Kleenex every 3 hours!! I have been keeping up with everyone's blogs though, just haven't left any comments. Looks like we are all enjoying warmer temps. I just hate being sick when the weather is warming up.

A couple of trips to Goodwill yielded nothing except some cross-stitch stuff. I really have enough already but I keep buying!

Just an update that I should have posted last week, my daughter did get to go to Vegas. That one "nasty" person did end up watching my grandson. She said she had a great time and she posted plenty of pictures on Facebook...lol!
