Hope everyone had a great Christmas!! Here it was totally not normal! Mother Nature decided to give us a snowstorm with blizzard conditions. I'm sure there were lots of Family gatherings canceled which also included it being with my whole family. Christmas eve we were to go to my hubby's family Christmas but due to the weather we couldn't make it into Omaha. Christmas day my mom and her boyfriend lost power in the small town where they live. Her boyfriend has a 4-wheel drive truck so they finally decided to make the drive to my house. They ended up staying the night and most of Saturday morning. We later found out that their power was turned on about an hour after they left their house. Oh well, we had a good night watching movies and eating! Saturday afternoon, hubby and I were able to make it to the casino but didn't win...lol. It was a fun day though. Sunday was supposed to my mom's Christmas with all my sister's and their families but they live in Grand Island and wasn't able to make it so mom cancelled that and we will be having it this coming Sunday. Normally after mom's Christmas, hubby and I have ours with my kids. My 2 sons were able to make it but my daughter and grandson weren't able to make it, they live in Grand Island also. This was the first Christmas ever that she wasn't able to spend with us so we were both pretty sad about that. And she has to work this coming Sunday so we won't be able to see her at my mom's either. Here are some pictures of our back patio. Haven't even attempted to do any shoveling back there. Don't mind the cigarette butts, hubby just throws them into the snow pile..lol.
Lot's of snow is pretty much the story around here. I have been staying in the house as my car doesn't travel on snow or ice very well at all! I have a mustang and it's pretty lightweight. I have some sandbags in the trunk but it doesn't help any. I've been doing quite a bit of stitching and cross-stitching but haven't gotten anything totally completed yet.
Well that's all the news that I have. Been pretty quiet. No makeovers as it's too cold in the garage to do any sanding or painting. My new computer just came by Fedex but it's so cold, I'll wait for it to warm up. It's just a new CPU unit. It's one of those new ones by Dell and it's called a "Zino". No more tower, it's just an 8 x 8 box that sits next to the monitor. It has Windows 7 on it so I'm excited to get on it and play. I have to transfer all my programs from the old tower to this new box though first.
Ok, now that's all...lol!! I hope everyone has a super Happy New Year and also a safe one! Stay warm!!

Christmas wishes
My Christmas wish is for you all to have a very blessed Merry Christmas!! Stay warm, safe and make lots of beautiful memories!!
We here in Nebraska (East) have received round 1 of our winter storm and round 2 is expected to start this afternoon. We have lots of ice and hopefully once the wind picks up, we won't lose power with all the ice on the lines.
I appreciate you all so much!!

Towel crane and pictures
Hi all! It has been a dull week here again but I'm feeling much better!! Thanks for all the Get Well wishes...means a lot to me!
First thing....I have got to tell you all about my new Towel Crane! I love it! It was made by Carol and her hubby of Firecrackerkid Primitives! Make sure you visit her blog and she is also on etsy under the id of firecrackerkid. Carol and her hubby make awesome bowl racks, book shelves, rolling pin racks and just a whole bunch of other wonderful items!! Carol is a sweetheart! I don't have this up on my wall yet as I need to get that kitchen painted. I know, I have been talking about doing that for a long time now. Hey, I did get the wallpaper border off, that's a start...ha!!
I have also taken some pictures of my "so-called" Christmas decorating...ha! I am no good when it comes to putting groups of stuff together. I usually just have one thing there and one thing here and one thing way over there!!
Picture of tree during one of the few times that Spaz the cat isn't around!!
Picture of scene on top of my writing desk
A corner of a bunch of stuff. Usually the greens and berries aren't there...Spaz the cat likes to drag them off.
On top of bookcase and on wall
My sink cover that hubby made me quite a few months ago
My hutch
And the rack with my vintage Christmas aprons hanging from it
And that's it for pictures!
Short week this week. Lots of stuff to do. I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas! Stay safe and warm and make lots of memories!!
Until next time!

It's been too long!
Hello all friends! Yes, it's been a long time since I have posted. I have been terribly sick almost all of the last 2 weeks...I'll spare the details but do want to let you know that I will NEVER EVER take an Ex-lax pill again!!
So anyway, other than being sick, nothing has really been happening here. We did get quite a bit of snow the first part of the week with blizzard conditions. Sounds like some of you have had the same weather. Been very slow on getting Christmas decorations out, I think I will just leave what I have and not add anything more. There have been no good deals at the Goodwill, but I haven't been there in 2 weeks so I'm sure I have missed all the good stuff!! I have sold all but 1 of my pinkeeps and stitcheries on eBay, so now that I'm pretty much better, I need to get busy getting more done. Probably won't work on Christmas ones anymore, Valentine's and Easter will be next. Wow...I'm thinking way too far ahead...lol!
Welcome to all my new followers! Hopefully next time I post, I will have something more exciting to write about! Have a great week everyone and stay warm!!

I WON!....some stitched things and a "few" GW finds
Good Sunday afternoon everyone!! I can't believe I won Mommab's giveaway!! I'm so excited!! Thank you so much Vickie!
I have been busy working on my stitchery and cross-stitching. Hopefully I can get these listed on Etsy yet tonight.
Frosty Freddie Candle Mat design by Rhonda Bowers of Primitive-stitches.com
"Believe" Snowman Candle Mat also by Rhonda
"Snow Christmas Tree" Candle Mat again by Rhonda
The backs on those candle mats are coffee, vanilla and cinnamon stained, just as the fronts are!
Liberty Pinkeep or bowl tuck...the back is cotton with The Pledge of Allegiance on it...front and back coffee stained with vanilla and cinnamon. This design is by Jenny Hoffman over at Country Rustic Primitives.
Another design by Jenny..."Redwork Sampler"...pinkeep or bowl tuck. The back of this one is a red striped ticking, again stained.
And then is also by Jenny..."Primitive 1839 Winter Pinkeep" or bowl tuck. The back of this one is stained muslin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Very few finds from GW this past week...still disappointed!!
I really like this find though!
And then this pineapple plate and this gingerbread plate.
Oh and a couple more molds...like I really need more!!! LOL!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well that pretty much sums up my week. Nothing exciting at all (except winning Vickie's giveaway)!!
Hope everyone has a great week!! Happy November!

Just a bunch of misc. talking!!
Hello all! Been awhile since I have been here. Had some health issues last week and I'm still kind of recovering from that. I have A-Fib but haven't had an incident since '06. I woke up last Wednesday morning and I could feel that I just wasn't right so I went to my heart doc. After an EKG, I was told that my heart was giving an extra beat. So off to the lab I go, bunch of blood work which all came out normal, and then I ended up having to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. It was showing that I was having this extra beat about every 2 hours that day. Yesterday's follow-up EKG was normal so we aren't sure what kicked that into happening. They did increase my heart meds so hopefully that won't happen again. Now on to some other things.
The following 2 pictures are of my grandson with his new bike that he got when he was here this last time.
Have any of you been to Gordman's lately? They have a lot of prim stuff...yes, I know, it's made in China but these crocks and jugs that I got are probably the only kind of ones that I will be able to afford...lol.
And then some other things that I got there. Someday I hope to be able to learn that blanket stitch that is used on the tags and mitten.
My last visit to Goodwill didn't produce anything...I'm sooooo disappointed!!
I did finally get some of those re-do's done. I love my spoon rack!
That's pretty much it around here. Still working on some cross-stitch pieces. I have 3 little tucks/pinkeeps done but those will be used for the OFG Holiday Celebration which starts next week.
I'll sign off with a picture of my cat...Spaz. She's giving me that warning look to not take her picture...lol!!
Everyone have a great rest of the week. Stay warm! It's going to get cold and rainy here again starting tomorrow!

Snow snow go away, come back some other day (like in December...lol)!
Well the forecast was correct this time....we got snow!!
This is what my front yard looks like now once the wind started blowing. Leaves all over!
On to better things...went to the Estate Dispersal Store yesterday.
Pewter items:
I hit the jackpot with all this cross-stitch stuff!!
This little box with all these sewing threads and needles!
Also got these Williamsburg VA towels that I thought would be cute hanging with all my pewter items, once I get a display done up.
That's all I got this time. There's a big craft show in Iowa on Sunday that I will be going to. Hope I find some good stuff!!
My daughter and gs are here for the weekend also.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and stay warm!!!
